Strike Martial Arts Amazing Instructors…

Our instructors have devoted many years to training in a variety of martial art styles, and have attained high levels of expertise to aid them in their roles as teachers and mentors. Through extensive testing, certification and tournament level competition, our staff has attained mastery in their art, and now enjoys sharing their skills and passing them along to their students. Here are Strike Martial Arts’ instructors and staff members.

Master Shane – 6th Dan

Master Shane Mckeahnie has been training in the martial arts for over 33 years, and has trained with some of the best martial arts practitioners both nationally and internationally. Master Shane has many years of experience with a number of different martial arts including Taekwondo, Boxing, Jujitsu, Philippine Combative’s and Krav Maga. He has participated for over twenty five years as either competitor or coach in WTF style Taekwondo and Karate.

Master Shane is a 6th Dan in Taekwondo and has also achieved the rank of 2nd Dan Black Belt in the Philippine martial arts; he travels back to the Philippines every year to train with his own Master Instructor and Mentor, Master Julius Melegrito. Master Shane believes you must be a good student before you can become a great teacher, and that is why he still remains a student of the martial arts today.

Competition has always been a big part of his career which is why he still enjoys competing locally and internationally in both Taekwondo and Karate, having recently won the Pan pacific Masters games and winning a silver medal at the US open in Orlando Florida USA.

At Strike MA all the instructors understand that most people don’t want to compete, that’s why we focus on the individual students so they can achieve their goals.

Miss Alyssa Mckeahnie 3rd Dan

Alyssa has been training in martial arts since she was two years old; she is a keen competitor with amazing technique as well as having a wonderful approach to helping the younger students. She loves to help the kids with their training and is very easy to get along with. She is a great role model and a wonderful member of the Instructor team.

Miss Bec Washington 3rd Dan

Miss Bec is dedicated to the martial arts; she is our main instructor at our Alstonville location. Miss Bec is a keen competitor who loves to share her skills with her students. She has achieved many titles including National champion in both Taekwondo and Karate and world cup champion in Karate. She recently represented Australia at the US Open Taekwondo championships where she made it to the quarter finals. Although she is a keen competitor, her focus is on our student’s individual achievements rather than her own. She is always eager to welcome new students and their families to Strike MA Alstonville and is eager to make their experience very enjoyable.

 Miss Brianna Mckeahnie 2nd Dan

Brianna is also a keen participant of the martial arts and really enjoys helping all levels of our students. She loves liaising with all ages and wants to be able to specialize in weapons training. Brianna is a valued member of our team and is always eager to have a laugh and make others smile. She has a great sense of humour which always brings out the best in others.
